I was asked last week by a teacher at Connellsville Area Jr. High School East to come and shoot the volleyball team when they play at home. So yesterday I went and shot the JV and Varsity games at west. It was much different then what I am custom to in college. I had to shoot from the side of the net because they didnt jump as high as they would for me to shoot through the net. I must say I was impressed with their performance, they did much better than I had thought middle school would play. Well after a long dead time, I have settled down to start blogging again. I have been shooting the whole time, but have been really busy with school and work. Yesterday I shot a double header of softball which is always a good time. Very low key and fun to watch, plus our girls are very good!  Canon Mark IIn, 400mm, f/2.8, 200iso, 1/1250
Well after a long weekend, I’m back to post. This weekend was busy shooting some different events like the Box Out, Relay for life and double header baseball. Thursday was a beautiful day for shooting with a nice blue sky and nice soft lighting. The box out is day where clubs in the college build a themed object for them to live in for the day. This years theme was our dream house, even though there wasn’t much interest I did get a few good PR shots of students at the event. Also we go there to film and its too cool for boats so we only saw 2 boats out all weekend.

School has slowed down and the business is starting to grow. I just attended ITEA (International Technology Education Association) in Louisville, Kentucky, which is a national competition for all Technology Education majors across the US. At the conference my team and I placed first in the Digital Communications competition. This is an event where we are given a topic to follow and we must create a video in the given time. This year our topic of the video was to create a 30 second public service announcement of the watercraft of the Ohio River. We were given 2 days to produce this video including filming, editing, and also create a notebook. We had 6 people on our team and I was the editor of the video. It was a rough 2 days of working nevertheless we came out on top beating the other six schools in our event. I will be posting the video online in the next few days. Well after a very very long weekend shooting swimming, I am back and fully recovered! Finally!! I had a blast, it was very eye opening experience about swimming. Never again will I take swimming for granit, it was one of the most competive sports I have ever watched. Between the team events to the individual events, the emotion in the natatorium was so outstanding. Well our CAL U girls really stepped up to the plate and 9 out of our 10 girls there are going to nationals in Texas!! Well done girls, great job!! I am waiting on the answer if I will be going with them to the national champtionship meet. I hope I do it will be a blast and hey I have never been to Texas so keeping my fingers crossed. As you can see my gallery site is up and running full-swing. It seems to be working well and really doing what I need it to do. Well done Zenfolio, they just added the option to sell digital files and I am still kind of leary about it but I am giving it a shot, I have added a full res download and also a desktop size that can be downloaded. I am currently trying, (site seems to be down right now), to add a digital picture frame size option that customers can download a digital file sized for digital picture frames. This was a request and it seems that more and more people are buying them so I will add the option. Spring Break is tomorrow so shooting and relaxing will begin *Geoff* Well I finally got my business cards in the mail. I must say they are GREAT! The design is sleek and simple, I chose that because I can’t stand busy cards. I ordered these from 4Over and they printed these (1000) in about a week and had them shipped. The quality is wonderful, I will be using them much more.
This week I will be shooting at the PSAC swimming state championships. I will be shooting a lot and will post some photos from championship well another busy weekend done! I shot the PASSHE conference which is the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. I had a great time with these students and state staff. I was asked to shoot the conference for later use and also for a picture sideshow. They were all great people and I really enjoyed working with them. Here are some shots from the conference.
